A painting you can fit in the palm of your hand. 🫱 Peruvian artist Ana Sofía Casaverde (galletitadejengibre) was so inspired by Claude Monet’s 1875 painting, “Woman with a Parasol,” she created her own version of his masterpiece—a version she can hold with the tips of her fingers. What inspired her miniature nod to Monet? The thrill of a challenge. Using a needle and oil paint, she worked to capture every detail of the painting. “I like how the sky is reflected in the subject’s dress. You can feel the movement of the air… I try my best to synthesize everything that I feel when I see the painting and capture it in a very small size.” We think Monet, ever the rule breaker in his art (and his gardening) would appreciate Ana’s creative spin on his celebrated masterpiece. ❤️ See Claude Monet’s original painting in our West Building (Main floor, gallery 85) 📍 __ 🖼 Claude Monet, “Woman with a Parasol - Madame Monet and Her Son,” 1875, oil on canvas, 39 x 31 in., Collection of ...
