Uber is launching a pilot feature in the U.S. called ‘Women Preferences,’ allowing women and non‑binary riders to request women drivers-- and vice versa. The pilot will begin in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Detroit in the coming weeks, offering options for on‑demand booking, advance reservation, or setting a default preference in the app. While the feature increases the chance of same‑gender pairings, Uber notes it isn’t guaranteed-- longer wait times may occur due to the predominance of male drivers. Riders and drivers can turn the preference on or off anytime. This builds on Uber’s women‑only rider features launched globally since Saudi Arabia in 2019, now available across 40 countries. #Uber #nonbinary #WomenPreferences #RideShare #safety #LGBTQIA
