Anna Chromy’s sculpture “Cloak of Conscience” sits outside the notorious Estates Theatre in Prague. This figure has become integral to Anna’s legacy. In 2008, she presented a model of this work to Pope Benedict XVI in the Vatican in celebration of the establishment of the Conscience Institute, an organization of the arts. Although the sculpture was created as a symbol of peace and hope, some visitors claim the sculpture is haunted, reporting sightings of faces in photos of the figure’s empty cloak.
