This summer, people in Falun and eight other Swedish cities can do their bit for biodiversity, by removing invasive species such as Canadian goldenrod (Solidago canadensis). Beautiful as it may be, this flower unfortunately harms native plant species in Sweden by competing for nutrients and space. Here’s how to make money by fighting for biodiversity: 📱 Download an app called Crowdsorsa. 🎥 Film the area before and after removing the plants. 🤑 The local authority then pays the 'plant hunter' based on the amount of plants cleared.
