We are saddened to share the passing of longtime teacher, football coach, and administrator, Mr. Arnold Drury, whose steady presence helped shape the Saint Xavier community for 45 years. His impact on generations of students and colleagues was immeasurable. Mr. Drury was the recipient of the school’s Theodore James Ryken Award in 2011, and he was named an honorary alumnus in 2019. Known for his quiet authority and the ability to silence 1,400 boys with a single look, Mr. Drury was equally admired for his deep compassion and commitment to the young men of St. X. He was a true example of a Xaverian educator, and he will be dearly missed.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.
