It’s been eight years since white supremacist groups rallied in Charlottesville, Virginia, sending shock waves around the country. The Unite the Right rally included neo-Nazis, Klansmen, and various far right-wing militias. Groups shouted racist and antisemitic slogans and carried weapons and Nazi symbols. At least three people were killed and 35 injured.
Since this rally, Jewish hate has continued to rise in America.
The rally in part inspired Robert Kraft to launch the Foundation to Combat Antisemitism (fcasorg) in 2019. As we look back on this eye-opening day, let’s take a moment to reflect and recommit ourselves to fostering a world free of antisemitism and all forms of hate.
