Well, if by the time that Trivium have covered Black Sabbath’s ‘Symptom Of The Universe’ with Machine Head’s Robb Flynn, brought out Sleep Token’s iii to play bass on a thrilling ‘Throes of Perdition’ and pulled out their unreal version of Metallica’s ‘Master Of Puppets’ for the first time in 17 years you’re still unsatisfied, there may be no hope for you.
But it’s in this trio of moments that show why Trivium continue to be leaders of the pack. Returning to Bloodstock for the first time in a decade, a festival that perfectly embodies the bond that the band feel with the UK metal community, they waste no time in making sure it is one for the books, pulling out all the stops as a thank you as much as a reminder of how fiercely fun this all should be.
