Cedar Rapids schools has the second largest student enrollment in the state but the highest-paid superintendent. That's according to a list of superintendents' salaries, which includes monetary equivalent for benefits, from the Iowa Department of Education in the 2024-25 school year. Notably missing from the top five highest paid districts is Des Moines Public Schools, despite enrolling almost double the amount of students anywhere else in the state.
