Dublin University Harriers & Athletics Club (DUHAC) hosted prestigious rivals Cambridge University and Oxford University for the first time in 64 years at the Cross-Channel Classic in Morton Stadium. The revived 2025 event saw both alumni and current students from all three universities compete in distance, sprint, relay and field events. DUHAC rose to the occasion with a strong all-round performance, particularly from the women’s section, who secured eight first-place finishes for the club. DUHAC excelled across the track and field programme, claiming standout victories in the women’s 100m hurdles (Lara O’Byrne), 400m hurdles (Rebecca Ward), 800m (Annie Hughes), 1500m (Sophie Jackman), and 5000m (Evelyn Coughlan). The men’s team also shone with George Warren winning the men’s 800m and contributing to gold in the mixed 4x400m relay, while the women’s 4x400m relay team capped a superb day with first place.
