Once I became Mr. Olympia for the first time in 1992, everybody wanted to know how I trained… That’s standard of course. People always want to know what the champions do. In my case, interest skyrocketed because the way I trained was a radical departure from what bodybuilders were doing, and had been doing, for decades. In essence, I took the best and most logical components from the teachings of both Arthur Jones and Mike Mentzer, then adapted and modified them into what was known for years as ‘Blood and Guts Training,’ and which is now known as… DYHIT - Dorian Yates High Intensity Training. Both Arthur’s and Mike’s routines were even briefer than mine, I felt a few more exercises were needed to hit the muscles from different angles.
