Step inside PC’s brand-new Human Performance Lab in the Ben Mondor Center for Nursing and Health Sciences, where faculty mentor Brett Ely, Ph.D., assistant professor of health sciences, and three health sciences student researchers are exploring the impact of exercise and heat exposure on the body, such as heart rate variability, blood pressure, and blood vessel function. Each trial begins with participants walking at a moderate pace on a treadmill for 30 minutes, followed by 45 minutes in a warm leg bath while key vitals are measured and recorded. The data collection doesn’t stop there — participants head home with a blood pressure cuff to monitor overnight changes. #ProvidenceCollege #FYP #GoFriars
