❗️Genesis Magma Racing, the motorsport arm of Hyundai’s luxury brand, has unveiled its first hypercar, the GMR-001, built to LMDh specifications in partnership with Oreca and set to debut in the FIA World Endurance Championship in 2026.
Powered by a twin-turbo V8 with a hybrid system delivering about 671 hp, the car features Genesis’s signature “Two-Line” lighting, a sweeping “Parabolic Line,” and Korean heritage-inspired accents.
While the 2024 reveal showcased a striking Magma-orange gradient livery, recent shakedown runs have shown the car in a bare black carbon test finish, a common approach in endurance racing to focus on development and conceal final race graphics.
Development drivers include three-time Le Mans winner André Lotterer, Pipo Derani, and Dani Juncadella, with milestones so far including its first engine fire-up in July 2025 and a successful systems shakedown at Le Castellet in August.
