Apple’s $600 billion investment in the United States isn’t what it’s made out to be. Not only is it not necessarily new spending, it may not even be real. Apple doesn’t report out their U.S. spending and has a track record of making ambitious commitments that they don’t follow through on — like promising a $1 billion North Carolina campus that got put on pause.
