Dialing in the SL RDLs with Gavin. What we are looking for in this exercise:
✅ Flat back: we don’t want any rounding in the spine. A straight line should extend from head to feet.
✅ Level hips: it’s easy to rotate onto the standing leg and open up your opposite hip. We want the hips level or parallel with one another.
✅ Glute activation of the unloaded leg: as the athlete lifts the unloaded leg, they should fire that glute. Doing this helps raise the leg and initiates (rather than follows) the chest moving downward).
✅ Lock out at the top: finish the rep with the loaded leg moving through the entire motion. It’s easy to skip the last part of this exercise where the hip extends forward, the loaded glute fires fully, and then you reset.
