Every day, brave humanitarians risk their lives to make the world a better place. They are the last lifeline for over 300 million people caught in conflict or disaster.
Yet, funding for that lifeline is dwindling and aid workers are increasingly under attack.
“International law is clear: humanitarians must be respected and protected. They can never be targeted,” said
#UnitedNations Secretary-General antonioguterres on Tuesday’s
#WorldHumanitarianDay.
“An attack on humanitarians is an attack on humanity,” he added, calling for stronger accountability and bringing perpetrators to justice.
