Sixty-one players from Section 1 and local private schools received various levels of All-State girls lacrosse honors for their play last spring, with eight earning first-team accolades.
Selections were made by The New York State Sportswriters Association. The Journal News/lohud girls lacrosse all-stars for Westchester/Putnam and Rockland were released in early July. The All-American and All-Section 1 teams were also announced in June.
Suffern midfielder Michaela Fay, the University of Maryland commit, two-time Journal News/lohud Rockland Player of the Year and two-time All-American, who recently completed her junior year at Suffern, garnered first-team Class A honors, along with teammate Jillian Terlizzi (pictured), a two-time All-American goalie, who'll play this coming year for UConn.
