In response to growing concerns from residents and local businesses about large gatherings of juveniles during late-night and early morning hours, Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies conducted a special directed patrol operation on Saturday night. The operation, which continued until 2 a.m., focused on locations in Saugus that have been reported as frequent gathering spots for youth, including a neighborhood park and a restaurant parking lot. At the park, deputies found no issues during their patrol checks. However, at the restaurant parking lot, a large group of juveniles was present. Deputies used the opportunity to engage with the teens, providing education on appropriate behavior and discussing the potential long-term consequences of actions such as underage drinking, fighting, and other criminal activity.
