AI or real? 🐦⁣ ⁣ One of the lesser-known units, our Remote Piloted Aircraft and Systems Unit (RPAS) – more commonly referred to as the drone unit – is responsible for deploying drones to support police operations across Victoria.⁣ ⁣ This can include search and rescue, crime scene documentation, intel gathering, and responding to illegal drone use.⁣ ⁣ RPAS is also responsible for training officers from regional areas and other specialist units, such as Search and Rescue, so they can fly a drone as necessary.⁣ ⁣ Drones are useful tools that allow our officers to effectively survey large and sometimes remote areas using visual and thermal imaging.⁣ ⁣ #WorldPhotographyDay #DronePhotography #DroneLife #DroneOfTheDay
