‘We were just checking to make sure you were okay.’ On Saturday, deputies patrolling in the extreme heat encountered a man who appeared to be passed out in a vehicle with the door open in a parking lot on the 31600 block of Castaic Road. While checking on his welfare, deputies found the man to be conscious, however he was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Further investigation revealed the 57-year-old Castaic resident had a history of narcotics-related convictions. He was arrested on a felony charge for possession of a controlled substance due to his prior offenses, as well as a misdemeanor charge for possession of drug paraphernalia. He was transported and booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station jail. #LASD #SCV
