Auburn and Baylor face off this weekend for the first time in nearly half a century. The two teams have played four times previously, with the first being the 1954 Gator Bowl. Baylor would fumble the opening kickoff of the game, and Auburn would score just a few plays later. The Tigers would never trail and win 33-13. 1965 would bring the Bears to Auburn for the first time. Baylor would come to town and quickly go up 14-0 in the season opener. Auburn scored a touchdown and two-point conversion as time expired. Auburn would make the return trip to Waco, TX in 1975. It was a game that nothing could go right for Auburn, with five total fumbles (only two lost) and two interceptions thrown. Auburn and Baylor would play to a 10-10 tie, to start Shug Jordan's final season as head coach with a 0-1-1 record after a loss to Memphis in the opener.
