✨ This Artist Appreciation Month, we’ve been proud to highlight amazing Temple artists making strides in the creative world. For our final #TempleMadeTUesday of the month, we celebrate the remarkable journey of Simmie L. Knox, Jr. TYL ’70, ’72. As the first African American artist commissioned for the official White House portraits of President Bill Clinton and First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton, Knox has also painted icons like Thurgood Marshall, RBG, Muhammad Ali, and Oprah Winfrey. 🎨 Simmie’s story reminds us of the power of art to capture spirit, character, and history. We are proud to share his journey and honor his legacy as a true #TempleMade inspiration. To Simmie Knox and to all the Temple artists who continue to inspire through your creativity, thank you for sharing your vision and talent with the world. ❤️
