Szechuan Wagyu Beef Bowls | this Szechuan Beef is insane with how much umami it has!
This bowl’s got crispy caramelized beef, a sticky glaze, sweet bell peppers, and just enough Szechuan pepper to make your lips tingle.
🐄 Beef Bowl
1lb Wagyu Ground Beef (I used snakeriverfarms)
2 garlic cloves, grated
1 tsp ginger, grated
2 scallions, finely chopped (whites and greens separated)
1 tbsp Szechuan peppercorn, toasted and crushed
1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
Rice to serve it with
Sesame seeds for garnish
🥢Szechuan Sauce
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp tamari
2 tbsp hoisin sauce
1 tbsp rice vinegar
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp ketchup
1 tsp sesame oil
A little beef broth (if needed)
In a small pan, lightly toast the peppercorns for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, then lightly crush and set aside.
Heat another pan over medium-high heat and add the beef, press it into the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes untouched, or until the underside gets crispy.
