Salmon Beignets! (Savory French Donuts)
Beignets are French donuts popular in New Orleans. Now, donuts are great we all know that… but hear me out. Savory donuts? I’m down for that, too. So much so that I decided to make this. But before you turn your nose up at “fish donuts” check it out…
Remoulade Ingredients:
1 cup mayonnaise
3 Tbsp Dijon mustard
1½ Tbsp whole grain mustard
1½ Tbsp prepared horseradish (optional but recommended)
1½ Tbsp fresh lemon juice
1½ Tbsp finely chopped capers
3 Tbsp finely chopped dill pickles (or cornichons)
3 tsp hot sauce (like Tabasco)
3 tsp smoked paprika
3 tsp Worcestershire sauce
3 Tbsp chopped fresh parsley
3 Tbsp finely chopped scallions or chives
Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
1. In a medium bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, whole grain mustard, horseradish, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce until smooth.
