Remember Elon’s infamous email that gave employees an ultimatum: commit to working "extremely hardcore" long hours at high intensity or accept three months of severance pay?
Elon Musk’s X has agreed to settle with thousands of former employees who sued the company after they were dismissed following Musk’s 2022 takeover.
The company, then known as Twitter, laid off almost 60% of its employees after Musk’s acquisition. Employees sued, alleging that 6,000 former Twitter employees were owed $500 million or more in collective severance pay.
The case was dismissed in July 2024, but the judge left the door open for employees to file another, amended suit. That suit was scheduled to go before a federal appellate court next month, but instead has been settled for $500M.
