🐐 For one of the most legendary Cars characters, he deserves his own film.
Doc Hudson, once the Fabulous Hudson Hornet, was a three-time Piston Cup champion in the early 1950s.
A career-ending crash in 1954 pushed him out of racing and into hiding, where he eventually became
Radiator Springs’ quiet town doctor and judge.
He later revealed his past and mentored Lightning McQueen, becoming the emotional core of the first Cars movie.
Fans have long called for a solo Doc Hudson prequel to explore his racing prime and struggles with being forgotten.
Pixar, however, chose not to recast the role after Paul Newman’s passing, making a solo film unlikely.
Instead, Doc’s legacy lives on through flashbacks and McQueen’s memories in Cars 3.
While Pixar is developing new Cars projects, no Doc Hudson movie has been announced—though the demand for one remains strong.
