When the world gets heavy and the overwhelm can be real using both mental and physical techniques to get back into your body and out of that rumination loop is essential!
1) Physiological Sigh: (2 inhales, 5 sec hold, slow exhale repeat) <— settles an elevated heart rate, creates a sense of calm
2) SENSORY 54321: scan your space and find 5 things you can see, 4 you can feel, 3 you can hear, 2 you can smell, 1 you can taste. This creates focus in your frontal lobe and allows your brain to stop a negative though cycle.
