French President Emmanuel Macron has warned that if Russian President Vladimir Putin does not agree by Monday to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, it would mean he has misled U.S. President Donald Trump.⁣ ⁣ Speaking alongside German Chancellor Friedrich Merz on Friday, Macron said: “If that doesn’t happen by Monday, the deadline set by President Trump, it means that once again President Putin played President Trump.”⁣ ⁣ Trump has threatened “consequences” if Putin and Zelenskyy fail to hold direct talks.
