Meet Zoro: a calm, well-trained service dog who will be supporting one of our Upper Division students who is on the autism spectrum this year. This morning, during our UD assembly, our student bravely introduced Zoro and herself to her peers, telling them her needs and answering their questions. Alongside her was Zoro's trainer, who explained to the students that Zoro is a working service animal, and demonstrated some of the services that he provides. The students asked many thoughtful questions about autism and service dogs. Zoro provides important support, such as easing anxiety, helping with transitions, and offering comfort in busy environments, and overall help his student succeed, just as our other accommodations ensure that all learners can thrive. 🐕‍🦺 We are extremely proud to be able to support our students in many ways that foster inclusion and strengthen our community.
