Twenty years after Hurricane Katrina, its legacy remains etched in both memory and infrastructure. Georgia Tech Professor Hermann Fritz, an expert in tsunamis and coastal hazards, was on the ground in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina made landfall. Fritz stood atop the twisted sheetpiling to document the failures that drowned a city. Since then, he has led or joined more than a dozen post-disaster reconnaissance missions worldwide, from tsunamis to hurricanes, landslides, and earthquakes. Today, he continues his work at Georgia Tech, studying the impact of coastal hazards to help prepare communities for the challenges ahead. 🐝 #WeCanDoThat
