Coach Kraig Kurzanski ’84 and the Crusaders open the season at 2 p.m. Saturday on our new turf on Koessler Field at the Stransky Memorial Complex on Clinton Street. For the second straight season, CHS opens against Pennsylvania power and fellow Jesuit school Scranton Prep. The Crusaders won at Scranton Prep in last year’s opener of a season that concluded with CHS winning the Monsignor Martin Athletic Association championship with an 11th straight victory over St. Joe’s. Elijah Kimble ’27 ran for three touchdowns last year as Canisius won at Scranton Prep, 39-25; that would be only one of two losses for Scranton Prep in a 12-2 season that ended in the state quarterfinals.
