A Polish F-16 fighter jet plummeted headfirst to the ground before erupting into a bright orange fireball. Horrified onlookers shouted and held their hands to their heads as the crash unfolded in front of them today during an airshow rehearsal in Radom, central Poland. The plane roars and twists and turns as it spirals out of control before its tragic descent to the ground. As it skids across the floor the plane explodes leaving a trail of thick black smoke in its wake. The aircraft's army veteran pilot sadly died, a government spokesman said today. Local media said the jet crashed into the runway at around 5.30pm and damaged it. It comes as minister Adam Szlapka confirmed the pilot's death on social media platform X but gave no further details.
