Had to come back down to earth before I posted my official thoughts about yesterday, but here they are! First and foremost, it’s not the loss itself that upsets me the most, it’s how we lost. Yesterday was probably the softest I have ever seen Alabama’s defense. DL had zero pressure — they missed Tim Keenan badly. Guys constantly got pushed around, most notably Justin Jefferson when he got leveled on one of FSU’s run plays. Players were literally JOGGING on one of FSU’s touchdowns. That was the most disgusting part. Ty Simpson had flashes and wasn’t bad overall. However, he wasn’t great. He has to have better pocket awareness. He bailed on way too many plays when there was no reason to. It seemed like he was in panic mode the second we started trailing. He had multiple plays where he had a clear first down by running, but he decided to throw it instead, most notably on one of Alabama’s missed 4th downs.
