Flashback to the Aspen Art Show. After a few soul-crushing shows, we decided not to leave anything to fate anymore. If sales don’t happen, at least we won’t waste our time. From now on, we always bring work with us. Creating on the spot not only keeps us productive, but it also draws people in—watching the process often sparks more curiosity than finished pieces alone. We actually left this show with one piece more than we arrived with. Candy Cane Tiger was born during the event, and it’s already been stealing looks—a cool addition to our collection. Art shows, for us, have always been a bit of a question mark. This year we committed fully, though the results so far haven’t shown. Maybe it’s the wrong crowd, maybe the art markets are slower, maybe we’re choosing the wrong areas—or maybe art shows just aren’t where we’re meant to thrive.
