We’ve said it before, and we will say it again: We will never stop fighting for access to life-saving suicide prevention services for LGBTQ+ young people.
The recent news of the federal government’s draft proposal to eliminate funding for The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline’s LGBTQ+ Youth Specialized Services is devastating. But we are grateful for all of our allies, partners, and supporters who continue making noise to protect this program that has already helped 1.3 million LGBTQ+ young people and counting through some of their darkest moments.
Today, we are especially grateful to the more than 100 members of Congress who sent a letter to the Dept. of Health and Human Services to demand that these services remain intact.
