We first spoke to Vanilla_hchi way back in 2021, when she was in her final year at the School of Visual Arts, when we learnt that her illustrations and comics were a way for her to explore tricky emotions, present and past. Since then, her style has evolved and solidified into the dreamy, ethereal and otherworldly feeling that she’s now so known for, bright with colours edged with a hazy quality, adorned with delicate patterns and willowy characters.
