Continuing on with our standing projections, we have the Buffalo Sabres at #25. And the forecast shows another year of Buffalo missing the playoffs, not to many's surprises after what they did this offseason. Buffalo's only real move of substance was swapping out Peterka, who was one of their main offensive contributors, for Doan & Kesselring. While I definitely don't hate the move as much as I did when it happened, I'd say at best it's a lateral for the Sabres heading into this season, won't really move the needle on their improvement. Apart from that, they really didn't address any needs. Their centre depth is rough. I love Kulich as a project and McLeod is a fantastic 3C, but this team absolutely does not have a legitimate 1C heading into this season, and Norris is a serious injury risk considering his history. If one of those three (Kulich/Norris/McLeod) goes down, Buffalo is in legitimate trouble. Defensively, I like Buffalo's top-four. I think Dahlin & Power are poised for a...
