Most photographers send prices without asking the right questions… and that’s why they get ghosted.
Here are the 5 questions I always ask before I quote a restaurant job:
1️⃣ What’s the goal — is this for a new menu, social content, or ads?
2️⃣ Where will the photos be used — Instagram, website, print, delivery apps?
3️⃣ How many final images do you need, and what’s the deadline?
4️⃣ Do you need more than just food shots — ambience, cocktails, portraits, BTS?
5️⃣ Any logistics I should know — multiple locations, kitchen access, time of day?
When you ask these, three things happen:
✔️ Clients see you as a pro, not just a “camera person.”
✔️ You stop undercharging because you know the real scope.
✔️ Your quotes feel tailored, not random.
Most beginners just throw out a number and hope it sticks. Pros diagnose first, then price.
