๐จ๐ฟโ๏ธA mysterious โF1 street racerโ in the Czech Republic has finally been caught after six years on the run.
Police arrested the 51-year-old man in the village of Buk, about 37 miles southwest of Prague.
He was still dressed in full racing gear and a helmet when authorities moved in.
The dramatic arrest involved dozens of patrol cars and even a police helicopter.
His so-called Formula 1 car turned out to be a Dallara GP2/08, a single-seater race car from F1โs feeder series.
The car is not road-legal, lacking headlights, turn signals, and license plates.
The driver was first spotted back in 2019, but his helmet made it impossible to confirm his identity until now.
He faces an administrative process with possible fines of several thousand Czech crowns and a driving ban.
The car itself runs a 4.0L V8 with around 620 horsepower, revving to 10,000 rpmโfar beyond what belongs on public roads.
