Police arrested the 51-year-old man in the village of Buk, about 37 miles southwest of Prague. He was still dressed in full racing gear and a helmet when authorities moved in. The dramatic arrest involved dozens of patrol cars and even a police helicopter. His so-called Formula 1 car turned out to be a Dallara GP2/08, a single-seater race car from F1โ€™s feeder series. The car is not road-legal, lacking headlights, turn signals, and license plates. The driver was first spotted back in 2019, but his helmet made it impossible to confirm his identity until now. He faces an administrative process with possible fines of several thousand Czech crowns and a driving ban.
