A common field one day. A field of honor forever. On Tuesday morning, September 11, 2001, the U.S. came under attack when four commercial airliners were hijacked and used to strike targets on the ground. Nearly 3,000 people tragically lost their lives. Because of the actions of the 40 passengers and crew aboard one of the planes over Pennsylvania, Flight 93, further attacks were thwarted. Join us for a day of remembrance at flight93_nps or a national day of service by volunteering at a national park. Learn more at: NPS.gov Images: The Tower of Voices, a ninety-three-foot-tall musical instrument with forty wind chimes, representing the forty passengers and crew members; park rangers in front of wall of names; anniversary wreath.
