Today, we remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001. Among them was my Uncle, FDNY Ladder #5 firefighter John Santore, who made the ultimate sacrifice alongside so many of his brothers and friends. Twenty-four years later, the pain of that day remains, but so does the resilience of this city and this country.
