Starting in September 2009, Josh Le wore his jeans for 330 days without washing them once. If that strikes you as unusual, you're not alone. "My parents, they're a bit old-fashioned," the University of Alberta explained. "My dad's words were, 'Back in my day, people washed clothes after each wear.'" Back in mine as well, but in the higher interest of science, let's give the kid some latitude. With the assistance of Rachel McQueen, an assistant professor at the university and a textile scientist, Le tested the jeans for bacteria before putting them in the washing machine. He next wore the jeans for 13 more days before the jeans were again examined. The bottom line: Little difference in the bacterial count between the vintage jeans and the ones that had been worn for 13 days. #jeans #dirt #dirty #experiment #scienceexperiment #scientist #science
