A SUB 48 SECONDS RUN. 😱⁣ ⁣ American sprinter Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone makes history, becoming the first woman in nearly 40 years to break 48 seconds in the 400 meters, winning the women’s 400m at the World Title in a championship record of 47.78 seconds. 🤯⁣ ⁣ The World Athletics Championships (aka, track & field’s most prestigious biennial international event) is underway in Tokyo. As expected, the women’s 400m final came down to a three-way battle between McLaughlin-Levrone, Olympic champion Marileidy Paulino, and 2019 world champion Salwa Eid Naser.
