This year I was invited to Snapdragon Summit 2025 in Maui... and what happened was nothing short of spectacular. Aside from meeting Valtteri Bottas (dream moment fr) Snapdragon announced the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.. the world's fastest mobile SoC. Alongside that they announced the new X2 Elite and X2 Elite Extreme, taking Windows on ARM devices to the next level with enhanced power, on device AI capabilities, and even LESS power consumption (meaning more battery life!). The 8 Elite Gen 5 packs new Oryon CPU cores up to 4.6 GHz on a 3 nm process, delivering about 35% better efficiency and roughly 23% more GPU power for smoother gaming and pro-level video features. The X2 Elite takes those gains to laptops, with up to 31% faster performance and 43% lower power use compared to last gen, plus a huge cache bump for AI and GPU workloads.
