LIONS RUN PAST COUNTERPARTS AT TRINITY PREVIEW: The jserra.tfxc Boys and Girls Cross Country teams each flashed impressive winning form at the Trinity League Preview at Central Park in Huntington Beach. In the boys race, the Lions pack moved to the front of the race early and maintained the collective grouping throughout the duration of the contest. Senior Alden Morales, who was sixth after the second mile, surged late and crossed the finish line in second in 15:19. Senior Cole Carlson was a stride behind Morales, placing third with a clocking of 15:19.4. Seniors Jack Burnett (15:23.3) and Luke Friedl (15:25.4) placed sixth and seventh respectively. Junior Zac O’Leary closed out the Lions’ head-to-head triumph by finishing eighth in a time of 15:41. JSerra defeated Santa Margarita (20-35), Servite (18-37), St. John Bosco (16-39), Mater Dei (15-40) in head-to-head scoring to win the meet.
