BACK STORY : There have been 3 professional baseball teams I have played for throughout my career where I was the only female on my team. I used to view it as a struggle and a set back rather than a positive opportunity. That perspective has gradually changed for me throughout my career. Here are the top 3 reasons why I have allowed myself to change that mindset into a positive outlook: 1.) Creating a space to IMPACT young girls who want to grow up playing baseball. Being the only female on my teams has allowed me to inspire young girls that they have a place and BELONG in the game. It has truly given me the opportunity to be someone I never had growing up. 2.) The SOCIAL struggle. For most of my life it has impacted me in a negative way socially. Not knowing how to interact or how to be myself.
