Painting reminds me of writing songs, but slowed down, and in color. It’s story telling. The process is the same; There is a story I need to get out of me with such urgency that I am willing to suffer for it until it is on the outside of me with the same intensity and potency as it lives inside of me.
Painting is an act of devotion. It’s hours spent in front of an easel alone, pouring myself into a composition to help it live and breathe and communicate. Instead of adjectives and vowels I use light and form to create the tension and share a narrative.
