Arianna Lint, CEO of the Miss Trans Star International pageant, has spoken out about holding the pageant in the US amid the Trump administration's ongoing trans attacks.
The pageant, which is due to take place in December in Puerto Rico, will see 25 transgender beauty queens compete for the title of Miss Trans Star International.
The organization's CEO, Arianna Lint said holding the competition in the US is intentional.
“We cannot fight outside of the borders. This is the United States, and this is the country of opportunity for everybody,” she told LGBTQ Nation.
“We cannot say, ‘Oh, the United States is not a safe place for us.’ We have to say, ‘Listen… We can fight.’”
