LIONS CLOSE OUT ELITE 8 RUN: The jserra_boys_water_polo team capped its three days of competition at the Elite 8 Tournament on Saturday at Harvard-Westlake School in Studio City. The Lions squared off with the Bishops School of La Jolla to start the day. Sophomore Lars Knepper tallied the lone goal of the half for JSerra, which trailed 5-1 at halftime. Senior Connor Colman scored three goals, with Knepper, sophomore Andrew Schneider, and freshman Sasha Bjelica also scoring in the third period to help pull the Lions to within 8-7 heading into the fourth period. Knepper’s third goal tied the contest at 8-8 with 5:29 remaining, but the Knights outscored the Lions 3-0 the rest of the way to earn an 11-8 victory. JSerra and host Harvard-Westlake engaged in their second meeting in consecutive days.
