Warm, brown sugar cinnamon oatmeal with pops of juicy (yes juicy) raisins is a staple from my childhood 😌
There are a million and one recipes for healthy oatmeal, so if that’s what you’re looking for, respectfully, this isn’t the recipe for you. But if you’re looking for a warm bowl of oatmeal with all the comforting flavors of brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla, I promise this will be a keeper.
INGREDIENTS
• 2 cups old fashioned oats
• 4 cups milk (I use unsweetened vanilla almond)
• 3/4 cup light brown sugar
• 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
• 1 cup raisins
• 1 tsp vanilla bean paste
• Start by bringing your oats and milk to a boil of medium-high heat. Should take roughly 5-ish minutes. Stir frequently.
• Once boiling, reduce heat to a simmer and toss in your raisins. I add raisins at this step to allow them to soak in some of that warm milk. This makes them soft and pillowy and is a CRUCIAL step to how I prefer my oatmeal. If you throw the raisins in as a topping, they will be cold and fir...
