On a trip to Venice years ago, my mom unwrapped a little box … her first Chanel bag. She told me she had saved for years and always dreamed of giving herself this gift. As a teen, I didn’t totally understand, but as I’ve gotten older, I realize what she was teaching me … the lesson of working toward something meaningful to you, whatever that may be. Growing up, stripesnchanel and I watched Fashion Week together on TV, Elsa Klensch on CNN, never imagining I’d one day attend.
